Greetings, fellow ARGonauts and Transmediatrons! Ten years ago , we embarked on an annual tradition that has carried on strongly and grown mightily over the years . That's right, it's time for SuperARGFest-o-Con & Non-Threatening Gender Friendly Activity 2013!
Ahh, to return to those heady days when it was all fun and games and no discernible responsibilities. Let's take a moment to reflect on the past decade, reviewing all of our horrible mistakes and terrible public embarrassments and wow, this is getting depressing, we should quickly jam those unhappy thoughts back into the dark recesses of our shattered minds and move on as if we'd never had them.
Back on topic! This year, ARGFest will be held at the Seattle Center in Seattle, Washington, from July 25 to July 27, 2013. We've been working hard over the last year to determine the location, book a venue, arrange for services and catering, and invite talented and successful people to come address us and make us feel like we're special too. So far, it seems to be working out pretty well.
Some of our confirmed appearances include the president and co-founder of Geocaching.com , Jeremy Irish; the amazing Mike Selinker from Lone Shark Games ; the crew from TVTropes responsible for the ARG, The Wall Will Fall ; Dr. Adam Russell from the Intelligence Advance Research Projects Activity (seriously); and the legend himself, Jordan Weisman from Harebrained-Schemes . Our keynote speaker will be our very own Steve Peters from No Mimes Media , without whom the first ARGFest might not have come into existence.
ARGFest will kick off on Thursday evening with a "Meet & Greet" cocktail party featuring complimentary h'ors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Friday morning we begin our day of conference sessions with the lovely individuals above, among others. Friday evening marks the Keynote Dinner, followed by the Keynote address by Steve. Saturday is a Festival day, including art-oriented and creative, fun events. On Saturday, our annual tradition of FestQuest also continues in style, and is sponsored and produced this year by the inestimable Synth-Bio Productions !
Every year, community members volunteer hundreds of hours of their time, and thousands of dollars of their money, to continue producing the first and longest-running ARG and Transmedia conference in the world. We hope you will join us in Seattle this year for the tenth anniversary and somehow twelfth annual ARGFest-o-Con. Hey, in alternate realities, time may work differently, okay?!
So check out some of our confirmed discussions and presentations on our Schedule page , read about the fine talent we have assembled on our Speakers page , connect with other attendees and find additional information on the ARGFest-o-Wiki , and register now to take advantage of the Early Bird pricing which ends on July 4th!
ARGFest-o-Con 2013 ! Yay! I feel better already!
